Free Credits for Chinese New Year & Free ChineseHacks Study Materials

Happy Chinese New Year  中国新年快乐!(Traditional: 中國新年快樂!)

Chinese New Year 4709, or 2011 in the Western calendar, is the Year of Rabbit. The Rabbit ( 兔 tù) is the fourth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac, which consists of 12 animals. The rabbit is deemed a luck animal sign, it is also viewed as a symbol of mercy. According to Chinese tradition, the rabbit brings a year in which you hold your breath and calm nerves. Those born under compatible signs, will likely benefit from luck or good fortune during a Rabbit year — i.e., in 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, or 2011.

Do you know anyone who was born in a Rabbit year? Write to us before 31 March 2011, and tell us in Chinese which "Rabbit" traits that person has. (Don't worry, if you get help from your teacher on ChineseTeachers.com, it will still count!)

The 10 best responses will each receive USD$10 learning credits!
