Why not send a Happy Moon Festival message to your teacher?

This month, you will see, or maybe even be surrounded by, many Chinese people going crazy about moon cakes (月饼/月餅/yuèbǐng), BBQ (烤肉/烤肉/kǎoròu), pomelo (柚子/柚子/yòuzi) and telling stories about the beautiful lady who flew to the moon (嫦娥奔月/嫦娥奔月/cháng'e bēn yuè).

Why? Because it's time to celebrate the Moon Festival also called the Mid-Autumn festival 中秋节/中秋節/zhōngqiūjié. This year, it is on Monday, 12th of September.

Teacher Yifan wrote a very insightful article about the origin and the evolution of this festival, check it out.

 Increased Message Length

It would be a lovely way to reconnect with your old teachers, or to show appreciation to your current teachers, to send them a nice "Happy Moon Festival" message. With our improved messaging function, you can now write a proper "letter" to your teacher.

When we first implemented our messaging function, its purpose was for 'quick questions', maybe just to double check on some confusing points you came across while studying on your own, or if you needed to cancel/change a lesson at very last minute and wanted to let your teacher know why, etc. But we noticed many of you are now using the function creatively, some use it to detail their learning background, some use it to explain their study objectives and preferences, some even use it directly for writing a small article to discuss in the lesson with their teacher, or as a way to complete the "homework" given by our teachers. As a result, more and more students and teachers are telling us they need more space to write their messages.

We heard you and have improved this function. Try it, and if the new length still doesn't satisfy your messaging needs, shout again, we promise our commitment to improve will never end!
