Feedback from my students
" As a teacher, Shaoling is very enthusiastic and manages to bring the class together toward the common goal of learning the language, thru involvement and participation. Shaoling was not only able to communicate effectively with all of us thanks to her very good level of English proficiency, but she was also very successful in addressing the different challenges that people of different mother tongue would have. As a result, a high level of class participation was achieved and all of us made great progress in mandarin in a very short period of time. "

" Ms Lu Shaoling is a good teacher because she was able to gain good rapport with the students in class no matter what nationality the student is; with her warm, friendly and cheerful personality. She was able to create a classroom atmosphere where we were not afraid to ask questions, clear our doubts and and try our best.
She also has a wide repertoire of teaching methodology that keeps the lesson interesting and at the right level of difficulty. Moreover, she was able to recommend useful websites to help us augment our learning of Mandarin. "

" Lu Shaoling is an excellent teacher, an expert professional teacher of the language. (Allow me to state that my opinion of teacher qualification comes from a substantial background of language learning, having studied Spanish and French from zero up to full professional working level as an employee of The World Bank, and German and Russian for reading in science and engineering as a graduate student at the University of Chicago).
These "Intensive" classes taught by Lu Shaoling cover writing both Hanzi and Pinyin, and of course reading and speaking, and a wealth of interesting and stimulating cultural as well as practical content provided by her. The atmosphere of her classes is cheerful, she teaches with enthusiasm, and we students are enthusiastic learning with her. She engenders high motivation among us.
She is attentive to each individual student, and makes special efforts whenever needed to overcoming an individual's particular difficulty. Doing this enables us, we students, to avoid being held up, and we make rapid progress. "
