Feedback from my students
" I highly recommend Zeng Bin as a Chinese teacher. He was my Chinese teacher at the Bridge School in Beijing for several years. First of all, he had a very good knowledge of grammatical rules (also in English) and was able to convey them in a simple yet precise manner. Zeng Bin is also a very reliable teacher and I know that he is regularly taking courses/reading material to improve and optimize his communication/pedagogical skills with his foreign students. As a simple example, he never taught a rule without coming back on it after a while, in a diverted way so as to check that I had fully understood the point. In addition, and this is a very important issue for professional students, i.e. professionals who try to study during their spare time (as opposed to full time ones), Zeng Bin is a very dynamic and encouraging person. " ZENG Bin was my Chinese language teacher when I was working at the Canadian Embassy in Beijing. His experience and love of teaching helped me learn not only the language but also understand the culture and enjoy the people. I wish I had had more time to dedicate to my studies. ZENG Bin showed patience beyond belief and I would recommend him without any hesitation.

" Zeng Bin's exceptionally patient character and strong communication skills encourage his students to be self-confident in both their oral and written language. I always feel that he gets the balance right between encouraging confidence in the student’s own ability, and gently extending their comfort zone. He is very conscientious in everything he does, takes his responsibilities seriously and always prepares well for his lessons. "

大家好!很高兴在这里跟你们相遇并共同享受中文教学的乐趣!
I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with Master's degree in Education. Before coming to the UK I had been a Chinese teacher for 2.5 years at the Bridge School in Beijing. Most of my students were adults from Europe and North America. My enthusiasm, patience and teaching skills were highly praised by my students and colleagues. Through practicing, reading on teaching theories and learning from other teachers I formed my own approach of teaching (Communicative Approach). I was also open to other effective methods, so I studied in a related programme in Beijing Normal University in my spare time.
In my Chinese classes I used many different ways to make students feel confident, relaxed and productive. I always focus on the most useful words and sentences for my students' lives and work, and use situational language teaching method to make sure they frequently use the newly acquired language points to communicate with me and with each other. I would introduce some interesting and simple Chinese characters such as “人,口,手,一,二,三,火,天,大”to interest students in characters. When students are quite good at spoken Chinese and are not afraid of learning Chinese characters I would systematically teach characters.
