Milestones Numbers: 200, 211, 29 and 6

This newsletter is all about numbers and milestones!

 Teachers

It has taken us 4 years, and we are really proud to saw we now have 200 of the best Chinese teachers.

A few more numbers to explain why we are so proud of all our teachers:
- 1,316 applicants: as of January 1st, only 200 teachers passed our strict assessments from 1,316 applicants. This means that only 15% of all the Chinese teachers who applied to teach on ChineseTeachers.com meet our teaching standards.
- 15 languages: our teachers collectively speak 15 different languages (in addition to Mandarin Chinese)
- 27 countries: our teachers are based worldwide, in most time zones

 Minutes: our longest lesson ever

We are not sure how a lesson could last more than 3 hours and half without taking a break...

... but student Michael and teacher Cevi managed just that and broke our all-time lesson record.

Well done to them!

 Free Resources, and counting

Our teachers are regularly submitting useful blog posts on learning Chinese on Practice-Chinese.com, a place for you to learn and interact with great Chinese teachers.

We short-listed so far 29 posts that are most useful as starting points for Chinese lessons so that you can use them before and during lessons.

These cover topics like Holidays, Kindle, iPad, Business, Comparing, Tones, Grammar and many more.

Check these 29 free resources. And feel free to add your own comments / questions.

Re-designs done by our friends at Skritter

We are always looking for great partners who truly care about improving the experience of learning Chinese, and who continuously keep improving their services driven by feedback from their users.

Skritter is just one of these companies: they have now completed their 6th redesign.

If you want to learn, and remember, how to write Chinese characters, we recommend them.

Finally, from everyone at ChineseTeachers.com, we wish you a wonderful 2011!
